wzBinned Code

wzBinned is a numerical code to extract uncorrelated binned estimates of the dark energy equation of state, w(z), using Type Ia supernovae distance-redshift data and other cosmological probes and priors. It is written in C programming language and based on Markov chain Monte Carlo method. For further details please refer to Sarkar et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 100 241302 (2008), and Sullivan et al., JCAP 09 004 (2007).

Binned Plot

The above figure, taken from Sarkar et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 100 241302 (2008), demonstrates the fact that combining future-generation surveys, one can determine three or more independent decorrelated estimates of the dark energy equation of state parameter.

(Last update: Thursday, June19, 2008)

Changes since the release of version 2 (please check cooray.org/sn.html):

1) Marginalization over the "nuisance parameter" is incorporated.
2) The resolution of the estimated parameters increased considerably.
3) The 'acceptance ratio' is changed.
4) Code is optimized for faster results.

Future version of the code, modified to optimize the number of bins, will be updated soon.
