Welcome to My Universe!
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Physics in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; working with Prof. Dragan Huterer. I am also a member of the Michigan Center for Theoretical Physics (MCTP).
Prior to this, I was a graduate student and a member of the Center for Cosmology at the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the University of California, Irvine. I defended my Ph.D. Thesis on Friday, May 08, 2009. You are welcome to watch the video of the defense talk or just browse through the slides of the presentation. A couple of pictures from my defense and the subsequent celebrations are available in the photo gallery.
My research interest evolves from my quest to understand the properties of the constituents of the universe, its past history, and its ultimate fate. With my Ph.D. thesis advisor Prof. Asantha Cooray, Prof. Daniel Holz, and other collaborators, I had been involved with various projects related to Dark Energy, Weak Gravitational Lensing, Gravitational Waves, the Cosmic Microwave Background, and peculiar velocities. Currently, along with Prof. Dragan Huterer and other collaborators, I am investigating the large-angle (low multipoles) anomalies in the Cosmic Microwave Background. Most of our findings are encapsulated in our scientific journal papers. Brief descriptions of our approaches and a summary of the main results can also be found in my scientific presentations.
Besides doing research, I have taught physics and astrophysics at various levels. I have also actively participated in mentoring high school and college level students for a number of competitions in physics, mathematics, and robotics.
I would like to invite you to take a walk through my work. If you find anything useful, then that would be one of my greatest achievements. If you are in a hurry and want a gist, you can just download a copy of my CV.
In case you would like to know more about me, you are more than welcome to explore my personal phase space, not captured in any journal yet. Also, please feel free to have a peek at yours truly.
If you have any comments, criticisms, suggestions about my work or anything else, please contact me and I would love to accept any constructive criticisms and/or innovative ideas wholeheartedly. The best way to reach me is via email; I try to keep an eye on my inbox even when I am in transit.
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill
When funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest, if you must... but don’t you quit.
